HydraFacial (Level 2)

We know that variations in skin tone, texture and hydration are a natural part of life. We also understand that some people may wish to discuss options that address the appearance or feel of these changes.

Our clinic can provide consultations about HydraFacial treatments. During consultation, a practitioner will assess your concerns, review your medical history and discuss whether this cosmetic procedure or another option may be appropriate.

The HydraFacial level 2 is a cosmetic facial performed in a clinical setting that may include booster serums and LED therapy as part of a broader skin care plan.

Any change in appearance or skin feel varies between individuals and cannot be guaranteed.

What may be discussed in consultation

For suitable individuals, consultation may address concerns relating to:

  • the appearance of skin tone variations

  • the appearance of fine surface texture

  • the appearance or feel of skin hydration

  • the appearance of skin that looks less even

These concerns are assessed during consultation to determine whether a HydraFacial, another cosmetic procedure, or no procedure may be appropriate.

This cosmetic procedure is not used to diagnose or treat medical skin conditions.

How treatment planning works

During consultation, your practitioner will:

  • review your medical history, medications and relevant skin history

  • examine the treatment area and skin characteristics

  • discuss your concerns and expectations

  • explain the possible procedure, its limitations and alternative options, including choosing not to proceed

During the procedure, your practitioner may perform a sequence that can include:

  • cleansing of the skin surface

  • exfoliation selected according to your skin type and tolerance

  • application of booster serums selected for your skin and treatment goals

  • LED therapy where appropriate as part of the cosmetic treatment plan

Product choice, serum selection and LED parameters are determined according to your skin type, tolerance and treatment history. In some cases, your practitioner may recommend a different approach or no procedure.

Safety, Risks and Aftercare

All cosmetic procedures carry risks and may not be suitable for everyone.

Before any procedure is performed, your practitioner will:

  • review your medical history, medications and relevant health information

  • examine the treatment area

  • explain the proposed procedure, limitations and alternatives, including choosing not to proceed

  • discuss possible risks and side effects, including less common but more serious complications

Risks associated with procedures may include:

  • redness or swelling

  • dryness or peeling

  • skin sensitivity or irritation

  • pigmentation changes

  • infection or delayed healing

  • temporary muscle weakness

  • uneven or unexpected aesthetic outcomes

Pain and comfort levels vary between individuals and depend on the procedure used. Some procedures may cause sensations such as warmth, tingling, tightness, discomfort or pressure during or after treatment.

Written aftercare instructions will be provided if treatment is performed.

  • The HydraFacial generally includes the core steps of cleansing, gentle exfoliation and hydration, followed by a selected booster serum and LED light therapy to address specific cosmetic concerns discussed at consultation.

  • The timing and degree of visible change vary between individuals, and no specific outcome can be promised.

  • Your practitioner can suggest timing based on your skin’s usual behaviour and any previous experience with facials.

  • There is no one frequency that suits everyone; your practitioner will discuss what is appropriate for you.

  • LED is typically already included as part of this treatment. Other cosmetic procedures may be combined or spaced out depending on your skin type, medical history and previous treatments. Your practitioner will advise which combinations are appropriate and which should be avoided or delayed.

  • The HydraFacial can often be adapted for different skin types and tones by adjusting exfoliation levels, booster choice and LED settings. People with very reactive, pigment-prone or medically complex skin may be advised to seek input from their GP or dermatologist and to use a more conservative approach.

  • For suitable individuals, it may address the visible appearance of:

    • Dull or uneven-looking tone

    • Fine surface texture

    • Skin that appears dehydrated or tired

It is not intended to treat underlying medical skin conditions.
